Kim Victoria Cattrall born 21 August 1956, is a British Canadian actress from Canada. Best known for the character in the role of Samantha Jones in the HBO Sex and the City series for which she was nominated for five Emmy Awards and four Golden Globe Award, winning the Golden Globe 2002 for the best supporting actor. The character was reprised on Sex and the City 2 Sex and the City films (2008) and Sex and the City 2 (2009). In the 80s her role was one of the leading in Police Academy Big Trouble Little China Mannequin as well as Porky's. Prior to her career as an actor, the model born in Skane was a fashion model. She was later crowned her first Miss Sweden contest. Her move to US, and began appearing in a variety of films, playing minor roles. In the film Abbott and Costello Go to Mars she was recognized as an Venusian. In the following year, she won the Golden Globe award in the Most Promising Newcomer category, after her appearance in the film Blood Alley.
